ACORN TO OAKS' STORY

Acorn To Oaks is run by Katie Bos and was started in January of 2021.

Katie is 21 years old and uses the pronouns she/her. Based out of Kelowna, BC in Canada, Katie handmakes all of the products you see here on this website and her Instagram/Facebook pages.

Katie started sewing when she was in elementary school, taught by her mother and late nana. Her first ever sewing project was a pair of pajama pants at her nana's house. Many of the clothing articles you see here were patterns that her mother and nana had and used and which she wore growing up.

The products you see at Acorn To Oaks originally came about after one of her best friend's announced she was pregnant. Sewing baby clothes as a gift was a natural thing! After the first few pairs of overalls were made, Katie fell in love with making little clothes for toddlers and continued to do so, making presents for expecting mothers/mothers with newborns she knew personally.

After being placed on medical EI in late October of 2020 due to stress and mental health reasons, Katie spent a lot of time dreaming up different business ideas and was encouraged by those around her to start this business.

She would like to give a special thanks to her close friend for being enthusiastic and encouraging as this journey began, as it may never have happened without her kind words!
